Léa Seydoux's soft spot for Italian fashion

Submitted by blueandred on Sun, 11/01/2015 - 18:30

Actress Léa Seydoux isn't too bothered about fashion but will always make an exception for Miu Miu and Prada.

The French beauty is currently doing the promo rounds with new film Spectre, in which she plays seductive Bond girl Madeleine Swann. It might seems as though she's always hot on the heels of the latest trends, but the 30-year-old star isn't actually that stylish.

“We didn't know if it would fly. We didn’t know if anyone would show up,” said DeYoung.

It turns out she didn’t need to worry, as the event was well attended and raised $7,000.

“We were overwhelmingly surprised by the response,” she said. “For us last year, we didn’t know how important this issue was to our community, and how much genuine concern there is around about it.”

Most Dallasites know that Partners Card is one sweet week of shopping, deals, and savings. But this year’s chairs and honorary chair want to make sure that with every swipe, shoppers are mindful of the cause behind it.

“We want you to have fun but to remember that not only are you saving money, you really are saving somebody’s life,” co-chair Debbie Munir said. “It makes a huge difference. [The Family Place staff] are good stewards of people’s contributions.”

Cherry Woods, luxury facialist at the Cherry Woods Skin Clinic in Richmond, UK, goes through some of the results birth control has on appearance.

Everything old is new again at Preloved, and the proof is stitched into every garment the Canadian label has produced for the past two decades.

Preloved launched in 1995 and made its imprint on sustainable style by reworking vintage fabrics into new garments. The end result: the teaming of seemingly contrasting pieces to create a cohesive new pattern and design.

The made-in-Canada label also makes use of “dead stock” materials — such as the ends of fabric bolts — which are transformed into fresh fashions, said Preloved founder and creative director Julia Grieve.

Letter Of The Day: Wedding Dress Or Uniform?

I am greatly concerned for the parents who are financially drained and yet forced to purchase additional material to make extra-long uniform skirts for their daughters.

One morning, while it was raining on St Johns Road, I observed a student in blue skirt that covered her ankles. The young lady had her school bag and had to be holding up her long skirt to avoid the water. She was really struggling to navigate the water while she secured her skirt and books.

The smoke-belching, ear-splitting, undisciplined rickshaws known as tuk-tuks are part of the chaos on Bangkok's clogged streets.

Soon however, the tuk-tuk will stroll down a more refined runway, when Miss Thailand pays homage to her country at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant dressed as the iconic motorized rickshaw. Her outfit comes complete with headlights and handlebars.
