The effervescent fashion icon of Bollywood

The 74-year-old actress passed away today at her residence in suburban Santa Cruz after brief illness. She is survived by a foster daughter.

Her prime career spanned over a decade-and-a-half but Sadhana worked with almost all the greats of the Hindi film industry of the time including Dev Anand, Joy Mukherjee, Sunil Dutt, Rajendra Kumar and Manoj Kumar.

Her memorable roles include those in "Love in Simla", "Hum Dono", " Asli Naqli", "Arzoo", "Mere Mehboob", "Waqt" and "Woh Kaun Thi."

Rohit Bal to close Lakme Fashion Week Summer-Resort 2016

Rohit Bal will bring the curtain down on the Lakme Fashion Week Summer-Resort 2016 (LFW) as the grand finale designer of the event, to be held from March 30 to April 3 here next year.

The fashion gala will be held at hotel St. Regis.

After presenting a finale show for Lakme Fashion Week last in 2012, Bal is back for his second innings as grand finale designer at the forthcoming edition, said a statement.

Zaner-Ehlers wedding

Danielle Zaner and Brandon Ehlers were married at noon Aug. 29 in a garden wedding at the Simpson House in Kansas City.

The bride is the daughter of Daniel and Teresa Zaner, of Kansas City. The groom is the son of Darrel and Marlene Ehlers, of Cole Camp.

The Rev. Joel Kurtz performed the ceremony.

Sara Mason was the maid of honor. Reese Swopes, niece of the groom, was the flower girl.

Shawn Waskiewicz was the best man. Caden Bichsel, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.

Ms Whitty, from Massey’s College of Creative Arts, is there with 12 design students visiting Xi’an Polytechnic University, one of China’s most highly rated fashion universities, as well as China’s top ranked Tsinghua University to see students’ approach to sustainable fashion.

As someone who has never been one to conform to behavioural or gendered expectations, identity is something that, thematically, has always been very important to me. Even as a young child one of my favourite pastimes was to neatly organise my toy trains on the basis of some imagined, yet seemingly sophisticated hierarchical system. Today, few things are as captivating to me as the spheres of classy couture and cutting-edge cosmetics, yet, for this week’s confessional of sorts, I have decided to focus my attentions on to something a little more candid.
