Vibrators are toys that vibrate. They are used for sexual pleasure, body massages, relaxation and medical purposes such as the treatment of muscle pain or insomnia.Vibrators come in many shapes and sizes but the most common types are battery-operated and plug-in (electric). There are also manual ones with which you have to move it yourself by hand. Most vibrators are small enough to be held in one hand (but some can be quite large).Vibrators were first produced at least as early as 1869 when American doctor George Taylor took out a patent for a steam powered dildo that could be attached to a chair via clamps on its legs. In 1902 another US doctor - Gilbert Dalldorf - patented what he called ‘the massage of the rectum’ using electricity transmitted via electrodes placed into his patients' rectums.
