Djokovic wins ITF World Champion Award 8th highest record in total

Novak Djokovic (Serbia), world number one in men's tennis, and Arina Sabalenka (Belarus), world number two in women's tennis, won the 2023 International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Champion Award.

ITF announced on the 14th (local time) that two players who achieved outstanding results this year were selected as male and female winners. The selection of the ITF World Champion Award focuses on performance in the four major Grand Slams and international competitions hosted by the ITF.

Djokovic lifted the trophy in three of the four major tournaments held this year. She won the Australian Open, French Open, and US Open singles titles. She finished as runner-up only at Wimbledon, behind Carlos Alcaras (Spain).

Djokovic recorded 56 wins and 7 losses this season alone and won 7 championship titles. This is truly an overwhelming score. Djokovic was also ranked number one in the world at the end of the year.

Djokovic, who received this award two years after 2021, enjoyed the joy of winning a total of eight times. It is the most awards for both men and women.

Female winner Sa Valenka won her first Grand Slam title at this year's Australian Open, then finished runner-up at the US Open and advanced to the semifinals of the French Open and Wimbledon. Had a standout season. Her ITF World Champion award is the first of her career.

Sabalenka, who ranked first in the WTA rankings for the first time last September, ended the year in second place after Iga Sibiontech (1st place, Poland). Sabalenka, who has 55 wins, 14 losses and three titles this season, had a spectacular finale with her ITF World Champion award. 토토사이트
