Another prospect...laments "learning nothing" from Chelsea signing attempt

Chelsea targeting Esteban Willian. The fans are not happy.

Under Todd Boeli, the Blues have had a clear 'recruitment philosophy'. In fact, most of their signings have been in their early 20s or over the age of 25. At one point, James Maddison was rumored to be on his way out, but his age was cited as one of the reasons for not trying to sign him.

Chelsea's emphasis on younger players led to another 'super prospect' being snapped up. This is Brazilian wonderkid Willian. Born in 2007, he"s only 16 years old, but he"s already made his mark on the professional scene. He's been nicknamed 'MessiNew' because of his similarities to Lionel Messi, whose main position is winger.

Chelsea are serious about signing him. European soccer transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted on Wednesday (July 13), "Chelsea are continuing to pursue Willian. Talks have been ongoing since October. Willian is on Chelsea's transfer list."

As talented as he is, the buyout is substantial. A whopping €60 million. "Messi's buyout clause is €60 million. No club has paid this amount yet. Barcelona are also monitoring his situation."

The talent is certainly there. But it's hard to see how Willian 토토 can help Chelsea right now. So far, the Blues' recruitment philosophy hasn't been paying off. Chelsea are currently in 10th place in the league with 28 points from 20 games. One of the reasons for their struggles is the lack of veteran players.

What they need right now is a veteran to anchor the team, not a youngster. As such, Chelsea fans have reacted negatively to Willian's signing. According to The Sun, one fan wondered, "Why don't we sign anyone over the age of 25?" Another lamented, "Boeli hasn't learned a thing." A third said, "Chelsea have a lot of players. One fan criticized the current situation, saying, "Chelsea have bought a lot of players, but they are still in the middle of the league."
