The main aluminum alloys used for automobile body aluminum sheets are 2000 series, 5000 series and 6000 series. The following are analyzed separately:
First, the 2000 series. The main features of the 2000 series aluminum plate are high hardness, good forgeability, high strength, in addition to good welding performance and corrosion resistance.
Second, the 5000 series. The main features of 5000 Series Aluminum Sheet are low density and high tensile strength. Compared with ordinary steel plates, it has good formability and good corrosion resistance. Widely used in automotive interior panels with complex shapes. But its disadvantage is that it is fragile.
Third, the 6000 series. The overall performance of the 6000 series aluminum plate for the car body is better. Compared with ordinary steel plates, it has better yield strength and tensile strength, good corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, and is easy to paint and process.
