A conventional Jewish wedding is brimming with significant customs, symbolizing the excellence of the relationship of a couple, and in addition their commitments to each other and to the Jewish individuals.
The accompanying aide clarifies the magnificence and delight of these the Jewish wedding customs.
The Wedding Day
The unfolding wedding day proclaims the most joyful and holiest day of one's life. This day is viewed as an individual Yom Kippur for the chatan (Hebrew for man of the hour) and kallah (lady of the hour), for on this day all their past mix-ups are excused as they converge into another, complete soul. As on Yom Kippur, both the chatan and kallah quick (for this situation, from first light until after the culmination of the wedding function). What's more, at the function, the chatan wears a kittel, the conventional white robe worn on Yom Kippur.
Kabbalat Panim
It is standard for the chatan and kallah not to see each other for one week going before the wedding. This builds the expectation and fervor of the occasion. Hence, before the wedding function, the chatan and kallah welcome visitors independently. This is called "Kabbalat Panim."
Jewish custom compares the couple to a ruler and lord. The kallah will be situated on a "royal position" to get her visitors, while the chatan is encompassed by visitors who sing and toast him.
As of now there is an Ashkenazi custom for the mother of the lady of the hour and the mother of the husband to be to stand together and break a plate. The reason is to demonstrate the reality of the dedication ― pretty much as a plate can never be completely repaired, so too a broken relationship can never be completely repaired.
