In India, the trademark registration is centralised and so the process is common for all. There are two ways for the registrations which are online (through official website) and offline (by visiting the trademark office). The procedure for the registration is as under.

- Filing of trademark application with necessary documents
- Issue of Examination Report that whether accepted or objected by the TM Registry
- Reply to examination report, if objection raised by Registry
- Publication of Trademark in journal for four months
- Opposition from third party (if any) during the period of publication
- Hearing and other necessary process for the third party opposition
- Final Trademark registration Certificate
