Water Leak: Causes & Prevention

High Water Pressure
High water pressure is sometimes the mother of water leaks. Normally the pressure is utilized for an efficient supply of water but when this pressure exceeds its limit (more than 40-60 p.s.i), it can produce stress in your water pipes, fixtures, and home appliances. Sometimes, the water pipes could burst as a result of this stress and cause a huge water leak while small scale water leak in home appliances like Washing Machine.

Leak Detection:
Regularly check the pinholes and or any drips in the pipes and home appliances. You can use a Water Pressure gauge for measuring the water pressure. You can check the water pressure by turning it on and see if it is blasting out or landing calmly.

It is highly recommended that you should check your water supply, pipes, and home appliances regularly. Replace worn-out pipes or deteriorated water tanks and tubs and notice the decrease in your monthly water bill.
