They changed setters and lost 3 straight

Leader Woori Card suffered its biggest setback since the start of the season.

Woori Card lost to OK Financial Group in three sets (19-25, 15-25, 25-21, 23-25) in the men's Dodram V League 2023-2024 season at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on Tuesday. It was their third straight loss. Woori Card's back-to-back losses have shaken up the top of the standings, as Samsung Fire and Korean Air remain in the hunt.

Woori Card ultimately failed to contain Leo on the day. After being swept in the first and second sets by Leo, Woori Card regrouped in the third set after dropping the second set. Coach Shin Young-cheol, who announced that he would replace his main setter with Lee Seung-won, brought in Han Tae-joon again in the middle of the game as things didn't work out.

After winning the third set in a fiercely contested match, Woori Card came within one point in the fourth set, but could not overcome Leo in the end.

After the match, Woori Card head coach Shin Young-cheol said, "We didn't receive well today. (Lee) Seung-won missed several tosses, and the players did not fulfill the promises we made in our analysis," he said. Woori gave up four service points to Leo alone on the day.

"There are things that I'm most concerned about, and I'm trying to create situational awareness, but lately, the players don't seem to be in sync with me for some reason. I think there is a risk that comes from that. 안전놀이터 We're a team that can fall apart if we let our guard down a little bit. I think we need to be more prepared again," she emphasized in a softer tone.

As for Lee Seung-won, who made his first start of the season, he said, "There are some things that have been pointed out as problems with the toss, but the fastball toss is slow at the end of the ball, so we need to be a little faster at the high end, and we need to create an angle at the high end while the ball is still alive, but that's not going well. That's Seungwon's biggest problem."

Coach Shin Young-cheol also said, "Recently, the players have not been able to manage their bodies well, such as colds and body aches. If you are a professional, you should be able to manage your own physical condition. They have to be able to manage themselves, and that's where the risk comes in. Therefore, if our players regain their minds, this weekend's game against KEPCO will not be easy, but the ball is round, so I think we have a good chance of winning."
