The door and window opening detector

Fixed on a window or a door, the opening detector (also called opening contact) signals the opening to the central alarm unit.

Easy to install, it protects all sashes: doors, windows, shutters, chests...

Operation of an opening detector
The door and window opening detector consists of 2 elements: the detector and the magnet.

When the door is closed, the two elements (detector and magnet) are brought together in parallel. When a door or window is opened, the magnet moves away from the detector and the detector sends the signal to the alarm wireless remote control unit.

Install an opening detector
To prevent tampering, the detector must be installed inside the area to be protected.

It is placed on the top of the door (or window) horizontally or vertically. The choice does not matter, but in most cases, the horizontal position is chosen.
The sensor housing is fixed to the fixed part (door frame) and the magnet housing to the moving part (door)

Thanks to its low weight, it can also be fixed with a strong adhesive (Pattex, for example, without nails or screws).

The advantages of this type of detector
If you're not home, you want to alarm your house, but you're worried that motion detectors will detect your pets, so opt for opening detectors in the rooms where you'll lock your pets.

Protection during the night
Alarm all your opening long distance remote control detectors at night to protect yourself from entering your home while you sleep. This will allow you to be safe while still being able to move around inside your home.
