For the first time in Major League history, a regular season will be held in Korea against LG, Kiwoom, and Team Korea. Expanding Korea-US baseball exchanges in the future

The ‘Major League (MLB) World Tour Seoul Series’, which left memories for Korean baseball fans, has come to an end.

The San Diego Padres won 15-11 after a fierce battle against the LA Dodgers in the MLB regular league game held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 21st.

San Diego and the Dodgers ended the Seoul Series with 1 win and 1 loss each. The players left the stadium with applause from the audience at Gocheok Dome. And then I started on my way back home.

The MLB Seoul Series marked a page of Korean and American baseball history.

Official MLB games have been held in Tokyo, Japan, London, England, Sydney, Australia, and some Central and South American countries, but this was the first time in history that they were held in Korea.

Accordingly, Korean fans fought a fierce battle to reserve tickets to see the world-class baseball player, and enjoyed baseball 100% while watching the pitchers' fastballs reaching 160 km per hour and the batters' exciting swings at Gocheok Dome.

San Diego coach Mike Silt said, “Thank you to Korea. “I had a good experience and had a good time,” he said. “I was able to play a good game thanks to the hospitality in Seoul.” “I am grateful to everyone who came to Seoul and helped me focus on the game,” he said. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said, “During the two regular season games, each team won one game, and no one suffered any major injuries. “I will prepare for the remaining games in the United States,” he said. “I think I have helped increase the popularity of Major League Baseball in Korea.” “Thanks to the fans and officials who welcomed us, we were able to hold the opening match without any major issues,” he said. San Diego and the Dodgers played a special match against the LG Twins, Kiwoom Heroes, and the future of Korean baseball, Team Korea. It was an opportunity for Korean players to show off their skills against players they had only seen on TV and advance to the next level. Moon Dong-ju (Hanwha Eagles), who gained experience by pitching against the Dodgers, said, “I’m still 20 years old, and I think I have a lot more to improve. “I think we will meet in a much improved form next time,” he said with a bright smile, adding, “I will make sure that I can play a ‘perfect game’ at the World Baseball Classic (WBC).” All of the top superstars in MLB showed up. Along with Ha-Seong Kim from San Diego, world-class players such as Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr., Xander Bogaerts, and Yu Darvish visited Korea. Dodgers players such as ‘700 Million Dollar Man’ Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman also showed off their skills to the fullest. In particular, in the case of Ohtani, even one swing received a lot of attention. Otani's surprise reveal of his wife Mamiko Tanaka's every move also received great attention. Director Ryu Joong-il, who led Team Korea, said of Otani, “He is like a character from a cartoon. He said, “I want to get an autograph.” Kang Baek-ho (KT Wiz) also said, “I want to get an autograph too. “A cool player,” he said with a smile. KBO and MLB plan to expand Korea-US baseball exchanges in the future. To achieve the common goal of globalizing baseball, we decided to actively review activities such as revitalizing human exchanges between the MLB-KBO secretariat and clubs, promoting regular practices and demonstration games, and standardizing international competition regulations and rules. Meanwhile, a terrorist threat was reported ahead of the game between San Diego and the Dodgers on the 20th. A report was received that a threatening email had been sent threatening to explode a bomb at Gocheok Dome and harm Ohtani and other athletes, and about 250 police officers were dispatched. 고스톱
