These little soft silicone protectors are well worth using. Our folding chairs had original hard plastic end caps that were so worn that they were scratching the newly refinished maple wood floor. These new, silicone protectors slipped right on, quickly and easily, and now the chairs "slide" quietly and easily on the wood. 

I have concerns about how long they will last. It appears that the felt on the bottom is enclosed in a silicone ring, so if the felt wears down, the edge of the silicone could cause an issue later. So I don't have experience as to how long the protectors last. They look great, in fact, because the silicone is clear, they basically "disappear" on the end of the chair legs. We have standard metal folding chairs, and I did not remove the original plastic protectors. I just slid these on over. I'm hoping they last a long time, as they seem to really do the job right now. Purchased these to cover my chairs in dining room on for newly installed wood floors, they work well - also purchased a set to cover the legs on my card table and chairs . for game nights!
