A company or an individual who has filed for trademark but yet hasn’t got the final registration approval usually uses TM sign to indicate that the trademark is in the process of getting registered.
R symbol is basically used beside a logo/the trademark when the registration process is complete and the owner has successfully got the mark registered with the appropriate registry.
