1. Maintain a Healthy Weight

A key reason for infertility or reduced fertility in both men and women these days is due to carrying a few too many pounds. Being overweight can impact on your ability to fall pregnant and so it is important that you strive to maintain a healthy weight if you or your partner is looking to fall pregnant. A healthy weight is a BMI of between 20 and 25.
 
2. Quit Smoking

Smoking can impact on your ability to fall pregnant, and the same can even be said for passive smoking. This means that, if you are either a smoker or you regularly come into contact with someone who is a smoker; you could struggle with reduced fertility. Therefore, if you are finding it hard to fall pregnant, try to give up on the cigarettes.
 
3. Ditch the Drink

As with smoking, drinking alcohol can hinder your (or your partner’s) ability to fall pregnant and so it is important that you try to cut back on the amount of alcohol you are consuming. Over 14 units of alcohol a week can have a noticeable impact on your fertility, so make sure that you consider this. This is a factor for both men and women; furthermore, once pregnant, the woman will need to stop drinking anyway for the health of the baby, so is cutting back on alcohol such a bad habit to get into?
