Just finished uni, I learnt a lot of new skills, not least how to teach myself, the most important thing I learnt there. It was an engineering degree though so my problem solving skills, constructed through a life long relationship with gaming, certainly played their part in my graduation.
I moved back home, and my nephew was playing this truly awful looking game called Runescape, I laughed at him but he insisted it was awesome. It was then that they released Runescape 2 and while it too looked awful I jumped in too. It wasn’t a good time to fall into an MMO to be honest, but it happened and I spent several hours a day gaming and only one looking for a job! This is the dark side of gaming I guess, it supports escapism but there was a very important lesson here for me too. Some times you’ve just got to grind.
