In an industry, the atmosphere is bound to become too much polluted with volatile large dust removal fan gases and combustible dust. In such a condition, even a tiny combustion can lead to a huge fire or even an explosion that can cause not only property damage but also injury and damage to life. Hence, it is very important to have safety measures in an industry and its premises so that any unwanted incident can be avoided.

The above mentioned hazardous cooling fan in power station conditions can take place even from devices used in normal life- such as fans to light switches. It is not possible to negate these devices completely. They simply cannot be entirely removed the workspace. To control these ignition sources you should implement intrinsically explosion proof equipment. What is intrinsically safe equipment? It is any equipment that will not produce enough energy that can cause ignition. Explosion proof equipment refers to the equipment that isolates any possible sources of ignition, preventing them from making contact with the open air. Explosion proof equipment on the other hand is not as constrained by these limitations and can be operated at lower cost. One example is this type of equipment is lighting.

Explosion Proof Exhaust Fan can be defined as 'a spark resistant ventilation system which is designed to perform the task of providing ventilation as well as controlling the overall temperature inside a room or factory unit'. These units are installed on the walls.

There are different models of explosion proof exhaust fan ventilation systems. In manufacturing units and factories, inflammable gases and vapors are produced during manufacturing process. This, eventually, gives rise to an overall hazardous situation. To take note that no untoward incident occurs, proper ventilation is absolutely needed.

There are Explosion Proof Lighting systems also. These systems are used for places where there is possibility of fire danger and explosions. From flashlights to fluorescent lights and LEDs , there are different types of this kind of light. These types of lights are available in different ratings and classes. According to OSHA, explosion proof lighting is "An apparatus enclosed in a case that is capable of withstanding an explosion of a specified gas or vapor that may occur within it and of preventing the ignition of a specified gas or vapor surrounding the enclosure by sparks, flashes, or explosion of the gas or vapor within, and that operates at such an external temperature that a surrounding flammable atmosphere will not be ignited thereby."
