Insider Gaming reports that between 2020 and 2021, Sega approved 10 games for production, including the five showcased at The Game Awards 2023. According to their sources, three of the remaining five games in development are likely to be Panzer Dragoon, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Sakura Wars. Panzer Dragoon, a cult classic rail shooter series, saw its most recent entry in the form of a multi-platform remake in 2020. Sakura Wars, a tactical role-playing dating sim hybrid, received a soft reboot titled Sakura Wars in 2019. The Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise has also produced various tie-in games, including releases for the Sega Saturn in the late-1990s.
While Insider Gaming couldn't confirm the other two titles, Sega's December trademarking of 12 new games provides additional hints. These newly trademarked franchises include After Burner, Alex Kidd, Altered Beast, House of the Dead, Kid Chameleon, Outrun, and Super Monkey Ball, suggesting potential early development for any of these titles.
