Gate valves are utilized in many industrial applications requiring shut-off valves, such as the oil and gas industry, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and automotive. They can cope in demanding environments, for instance high temperature and high pressure environments. Common gate valve applications include in power plants, water treatments, mining and offshore applications.

Knife gate valves at stvvalves.com are advantageous in sludge and slurry applications as their blades cut all the way through thick liquids easily. They’re generally per larger sizes for handling thick flows of heavy oils, light grease, slurry, paper pulp, varnish and wastewater to but a few knife gate valve applications.

Because from the diversity of construction materials, trim offerings, and design combinations provided by gate valves, they're appropriate for used in a wide variety of applications. From high-temperature coking units to food and pharmaceutical services, gate valves could be trusted to reliably perform.

The protected seat face kind of double expanding and slab gate valves eliminates degradation with the seat face a result of debris at the same time fluid, causing them to be ideal for liquid service. When additional protection should be used at points in pipeline applications where operational integrity is essential and the consequences of environmental exposure are higher, for example near waterways and municipalities, double- expanding gate valves certainly are a particularly wise choice.

Rising stems are fixed on the gate and so they rise minimizing together because valve is operated, providing a visual indication in the valve position and making it possible to grease the stem. A nut rotates across the threaded stem and moves it. This type is suitable for above-ground installation.

Non-rising stems are threaded into your gate, and rotate while using wedge rising and lowering in the valve. They use up less vertical space since stem is kept inside valve body. AVK offers gate valves  with a factory-mounted indicator for the upper end in the stem to point out the valve position. Gate valves with non-rising stems are appropriate for both above-ground and underground installations.

The most of AVK’s range are intended with non-rising stem, but we also offer gate valves with rising stem for water, wastewater and fire protection applications.
