Willow Johnson international transfer consent form issuance process completed
Willow Johnson (USA), a new foreign player from Heungkuk Life Insurance in the women's professional volleyball division, has completed the joining process. Willow's father, Randy Johnson, a legendary American professional baseball pitcher, is expected to visit Korea near the end of the season to watch his daughter play in person.
Heungkuk Life Insurance announced on the 26th that the procedures including issuance of Willow's International Transfer Consent (ITC) and visa were completed.
In an interview video released by the club that day, Willow said, “I am happy to finally come to Korea. “I am able to show my skills,” he said. “I am happy to be able to play high-level volleyball with good colleagues.”
He revealed that he got information about the Korean V-League from other foreign players who played in Korea. Willow said, “I heard amazing and great things about Korean volleyball from American and Dominican Republic players who played in Korea. They told me that although it would be difficult in many ways, there were a lot of fans and everyone would like it.”
Willow said she felt welcomed after joining Heungkuk Life Insurance. He said, “The whole team welcomed me on the first day I came here. “Even if difficult situations arise, my teammates will protect me,” he said. “I want to win.” I hope the fans welcome it. “I want to play a good game on the court,” he said.
His family, including his father Randy Johnson, also congratulated him on his trip to Korea. He said, “My family knows that I have tried out for the Korean league several times,” and “I was very happy to have been given the opportunity.”
Randy Johnson gave advice to his daughter who is about to go to Korea. He said, “My father gave me advice throughout my career. “He always told me to take care of my body and do my best every day,” he explained. “He made me happy this time too and told me to do my best and seize the opportunity.”
Randy Johnson is expected to visit a Korean volleyball court to watch his daughter play. Willow said, “If (my father) comes, he will come around the end of the season. He is currently recovering from knee surgery, and I look forward to coming to see him.” 고스톱
