The name Geometry Dash may be familiar; you could have played it years ago or encountered it online. It is likely that you have encountered it, at the very least. Few games as significantly influenced the gaming industry as Geometry Dash, however it has mostly diminished in prominence for many nowadays. Nevertheless, with the renewed popularity of other nostalgic childhood games such as Minecraft, it may be opportune to reflect on past experiences, revisit Geometry Dash, and see its evolution—paralleling our own growth.

Challenge

Geometry Dash levels are categorized into 10 distinct difficulty categories, from Auto (requiring no player involvement) to Demon. The Demon difficulty has five subcategories, the most challenging of which is Extreme Demon. Extreme Demons exhibit gameplay characterized by precise timing and little margin for mistake. As the game's community became more proficient, the stages progressively escalated in difficulty. The currently most challenging confirmed Extreme Demon, Acheron, has 60 locations where clicks must be completed with precision inside the frame (for players operating the game at 60 frames per second). It now has just two certified winners.

Bloodbath, first regarded as the most challenging Demon upon its 2015 debut, is currently classified as the 297th most difficult Demon, with several certified completers. Levels formerly deemed almost insurmountable upon launch, such as Phobos and Sonic Wave, are now far less remarkable in difficulty, to the extent that they have successors that greatly exceed them in challenge.
