A lot of punts and a lot of defense. It's not that surprising. We're all aware that Bears have an excellent defense, and they started Chase Daniel, a backup quarterback who was making his first start since 2014. in a road game and one of the most short weeks. In the past, the Lions offensive line has been struggling this season in the face of good defenses. Detroit did not have Kerryon Johnson on Wednesday too. It had been Bears 9-7 at half time. It was 16-16 at the end of the 4th quarter . A second choice six for Bears player Eddie Jackson helped them win the game 23-16.
A couple of takeaways from this game. First, I've been reluctant to join the Bears bandwagon since there's something that I'm not able to believe concerning Mitch Trubisky. I think the Bears are the most effective team in the first half of games, even superior in their first half. They have been leading at the half in every game before they get slowed down in the second quarter. Could that be because Trubisky's off his opening script and/or Matt Nagy is off his script, which means they're not as efficient? I'm inclined to believe that it's because of Trubisky not being as efficient as it has been proven that it's easy to miss throws. Even as good as the Bears defense is, in 2018 your quarterback and offensive should be playing at a high standard to make it to the playoffs.
But I do think it's time to buy into the Bears as they are an entire year away from Super Bowl contention. The Lions aren't exactly alive currently but Chicago played on the road to a division rival using the backup quarterback in an unseasonably short time frame and came out on top. That's huge. Washington couldn't have done it.
Yesterday Chase Daniel showed why he routinely gets paid big sums of money to play backup. He was 27-37 for 220 yards and two touchdowns. This game showed that Matt Nagy is a legit coach. In fact, he was prior to the game however, the Bears offense were able to be efficient under those circumstances. They didn't have much of Buy Madden 24 coins an offensive game, but they maintained their open players throughout the game.
