We started dating and because of the intense work fifa coins schedule we'd stay in and plug away at our tables. I was painting all the time and he would be penciling. Then one day he was looking for an inker on a really tight deadline and I was like, "Dude... why don't you give me a stab at it. What's the worst that'll happen?" I ended up inking the cover to Venom #28 with a mouse. You wouldn't believe it, but if you had my file and zoomed in you can tell.

Anyways, I started inking him on all of his covers since then. It was so fun. It was like, you'd see him comp something, then lay it out on the board from start to finish. Then I'd grab it literally from his hand and start inking it. His table is side by side with my table so he can look over and give me hell if something's out of place. I don't mess up, though. I could be a sniper, my hands are that steady.

Our studio is a fun place where lots of art happens. We take breaks and kill each other on fighting games. I still rock out to my 80s shred metal. He collects lots of urban vinyl. It's a very creative place. We collaborate on everything together. I think we're a great team.

Shane: The main reason was after drawing comics for 12 odd years and building charters or re-imagining them, I couldn't justify not owning something. They were my go to first as publisher. They were the only ones I showed it to. They are very open about their deal.

I had a disagreement with an unnamed publisher, over creator rights. I was under the impression, as most people are, that because I designed and drew the characters for the first time, that I was a creator! After some legal back and forth, I started to think more and more about creator rights. This is a conversation I never had to have at Image.

Michelle: Image has a good reputation of letting creators do what they want with the characters that they create. This is so rejuvenating! www.hellofifa.com They treat talent with respect and make every project special. The staff is also really awesome. As a female creator, they just made me feel welcomed.
