How to make your electric bill less?

Keeping up with bills is sometimes crazy. Remember the moment you first saw the electric bill for a new building? How can it be SO expensive? With a few tips, and maybe a little work and careful planning, you can reduce your energy bill. Below are some tips from a professional electric company:

  • Open or close the blinds. In cold months, the sunshine coming through can heat up the room naturally. This will allow for less work to be done by the heater. In the hotter months, close the blinds or curtains so that the ac doesn't have to work overtime.
  • Turn off lights. This may seem like an obvious one, but many are surprised by how often they forget to turn off the lights. Use the light from the window (in cold months).
  • Lower HVAC system when no one is there. If you turn it all the way off, it will take a lot more energy the next day to heat or cool it off.
  • Turn computers off at night. Leaving computers on overnight will increase the electric bill.
  • Keep temperature at the same level. Constantly arguing or changing the temperature will increase costs.
  • Keep wiring and lights up to date. Get the building checked every so often to make sure there aren't any serious problems that have been overlooked.
  • Get an annual electrical efficiency checks. Although these may cost some more money, it can save big bucks in the long run.
