How Are Scores on IQ Tests Calculated?

Many IQ tests are used today. Whether they measure actual intelligence or simply certain abilities is controversial. IQ tests measure a specific functioning ability and may not accurately assess a person's talents or future potential. Results of any intelligence test may be culturally biased. Intelligence quotient (IQ) testing is a series of exams used to determine your general intelligence in relation to other people of the same age.

The IQ test consists of a number of tasks measuring various measures of intelligence including short-term memory, analytical thinking, mathematical ability and spatial recognition. Like all IQ tests it does not attempt to measure the amount of information you have learned but rather your capacity to learn. The IQ test put very simply is a measure of human intelligence. There are certain questions that need to be answered in a stipulated time to obtain the score that is then compared to the norms established for that age.
