Original Title: Filter Dryer in Chiller Refrigeration System A dry filter installed in the condenser coil outlet liquid line to filter or trap tiny foreign particles and absorb any moisture or moisture present in the chiller system. Moisture can cause compressor valve failure and, in the case of hermetic compressors, often results in breakdown of the motor winding insulation, thin film distillation, causing the motor to short circuit or be grounded. The presence of moisture may reduce the performance of the lubricating oil and may result in the formation of metallic or other acidic sludge that can cause clogging or plugging of valves and other oil circuits. The moisture reacts with the refrigerant to form an acidic solution. This acidic solution dissolves the copper tubing and extracts the copper from the copper-based alloys, such as brass or bronze, cbd crystallization equipment, present in different parts of the air conditioning system. This copper is deposited as "copper plating" in compressor bearings and valves and can cause system leaks, system vacuuming or improper vacuuming, filter/dryer failure, nutsche filter dryer ,molecular distillation systems, oil and refrigerant contamination. The desiccant absorbs moisture; the desiccant material may be solid or liquid. The solid desiccants are silica gel, activated alumina, zeolite, titanium dioxide, while the commercial solid desiccants are activated carbon, metal oxides, and specially developed porous metal hydrides. Silica gel is one of the best and commonly used materials in desiccant, which has good long-term stability. However, it is not a heat resistant material and is therefore only suitable for cryogenic systems. A common dryer today is a capsule filled with a solid desiccant, such as activated alumina or zeolite, which has the ability to absorb acid, protecting the bore of the thermostatic expansion valve from damage by fine debris. Today, wiped film evaporator, the dryer is compatible with all commercially available refrigerants, including r-410a. Large dryers are manufactured in such a way that they can be opened to remove the used moisture absorbent and replaced with a new one, while small dryers are replaced as a complete unit. The suction line filter-drier is a temporary installation to clean up the system and must be discarded after use if the pressure is below the set pressure. A clogged dryer will leave the evaporator with insufficient refrigerant and may cause the compressor to run longer. Return to Sohu to see more Responsible Editor:. toptiontech.com
