Gone are the days when one used to run to the public all booths or land phones, booking International trunk calls through an operator and waiting inordinately for the call to materialize. These are the days of International Self Dialing using one’s cell phone. Even viewing on Skype and talking with the person on the other end of the globe is possible if the user has a smart phone.
There is one Cliché in This
However there is one cliché in all these. Even when the caller has the latest and best smart phone at his or her disposal it may not be possible getting into touch with the people overseas at home or other places beyond a country’s geographical boundaries. The reason is that the current SIM card in the cell phone does not support the network in the country where the caller is now located. This means the smart phone or cell phone owner has to change the current SIM with one that is supported by the network prevalent in the country where he or she is currently stationed. This could be a great botheration for the phone user.
The Way Out
If someone is a frequent overseas traveler and visiting one country after another in quick succession then changing the SIM for a local one every time will not only be troublesome and time consuming but also expensive as well. It would be good to have a SIM that works globally. With such a global SIM card there won’t be any necessity of frequent SIM change. These SIMs also does not have roaming charges as the calls are converted from outgoing to incoming and the call costs are substantially reduced.
To make the solution effective and cost economic it would be good arranging such a SIM well ahead of the travel. A qualitative provider would be the approach point for the phone user. Selection of a qualitative service provider needs appropriate consideration of services, call rates, call boundary and such other factors that will offer a facility to connect calls locally in the foreign lands and help in staying connected. A local SIM card also help in getting good network connectivity that travelling on international roaming mode
