However, by keeping in mind some simple guidelines, you can successfully find the photographer that will create the magic and keepsakes you will cherish for the rest of your life. 

Wedding Photography Styles:

Currently, there are three primary styles of wedding photography in Los Angeles; Documentary Photography (Photojournalism/Candid), Traditional Photography (Classic), and Contemporary Wedding Photography (Modern). Depending on your taste, the style you select will define the outcome of the photographs. Thus, by interviewing photographers and getting to know a little about their formal training, certifications, professional memberships, styles they use, and how they stay abreast of trends, all these will help you make a more successful selection for your wedding day.

Documentary Photography, also known as Photojournalistic Photography, is used to chronicle events throughout your wedding day in candid/natural way; not requiring couples, family, or guests to pose for photographs.

Traditional Photography ensures the rules and techniques of formal/classic photography are applied. This type of photography includes posing the Bride and Groom, their family, and their friends in groups. It includes staged poses during traditional phases of a wedding, such as cake cutting, and portrait sessions.

Contemporary Photography, also known as Modern Photography, is trendier than Documentary or Traditional Photography. This method is used to photograph couples in relaxed, unusual, and posed strategically, making them look natural.

Setting aside 10 percent of the entire wedding cost for the professional photography services’ budget is highly recommended. Things to consider when comparing photographers’ costs:  Photographers generally charge by the caliber of photographer they are, their service offerings, and the quality of the products offered in their collections/packages. Also, their studio location such as Orange County or Los Angeles County will define any added costs. Destinations wedding photographer require you to cover transportation, hotel accommodations, and meals for the photographer and his/her team. Your wedding is a major event in your life, so sacrificing quality for cost can be detrimental. This is the time when you want to ensure it is a memorable event with keepsakes you will cherish forever. Read photographers’ reviews and testimonials. They can lead you towards him/her or away from them. Always carefully review all the details of your wedding with your selected photographer. Read the contract, ensuring the it clearly defines agreed to products, services, retainer, payment plans, timeline, and costs.
