Can I be a partner in a partnership firm if I am already an employee in another private company in India?

Yes, anyone can be partner in partnership firm if such person is an employee of any company. But one should check the employment contract before taking any step because if it includes any clause against to carry on similar business or becoming a partner then it will be considered breach of clause. The company can take steps against such person.
