In addition to fighting on the rally circuit, GR Yaris is also contested by Rookie Racing, which is a Toyota subsidiary racing team of the Japan Super-Fast Endurance Series.
The Toyota GR Yaris is banned in the United States by special World Rally certification which is undergoing another adjustment to make it even more desirable. Its trick is to update the software regularly, when you spend more time driving the car, it will improve the driving experience. However there is a problem. This feature, even the entire car, can only be obtained through a subscription service. In addition to fighting on the rally circuit, GR Yaris is also contested by Rookie Racing, which is a Toyota subsidiary racing team of the Japan Super-Fast Endurance Series.
This is the team that recently helped Toyota test the hydrogen-fueled Corolla powered by GR Yaris engines during the Fuji 24 Hours. Through software, Toyota can even customize the steering and braking response (and possibly the throttle) of the vehicle according to individual driving style. In addition to these electronic skills, Morizo Collection also comes with some details to allow you to connect with the Rookie Racing team.
The blue and yellow team uniforms are featured in the stitching of the seats and gearboxes throughout the cabin, and there are team logos on the center cover and switch base of the 10-spoke hub. The suspension will also use Rookie. Perhaps the strangest thing about this car is its namesake Morizo. This is actually the racing alias of Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda. The president used another self to record the race to keep his identity a secret and protect him from critics who believed the then-vice president was irresponsible for participating in such dangerous activity. Over the years, Morizo’s true identity has been revealed, but it still exists and Akio Toyoda is still using it, most recently behind the aforementioned Hydrogen Corolla.
At Yaris, Morizo’s signature appears on the car window as a logo. The strange thing is that, although Morizo Selection can customize the car, you cannot fully own it. It can only be obtained through Toyota’s Kinto subscription service in Japan. Kinto allows subscribers to choose from a number of new Toyota or Lexus cars at regular intervals, but includes financing, insurance, repairs, and Japan’s strict and notoriously expensive registration checks, all of which are included in the cost of one month. GR Yaris Morizo Selection will offer three colors, Precious Black Pearl, Emotional Red II and the popular Platinum White Pearl Mica. More details will be provided when it goes on sale in spring 2022.
