How to prevent from zika virus?

Dengue, yellow fever, and West Nile viruses resemble the zika virus. Although it can potentially spread intrauterinally, Zika is primarily spread by mosquito bites and is carried by infected Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Mild fever, rash, and muscle soreness are common in some people. Even in those who never exhibit any signs of infection, the Zika virus may, in rare circumstances, lead to difficulties with the brain or neurological system, such as Guillain-Barre syndrome. Zika, Zika fever, and Zika virus sickness are other names for the Zika virus infection.

Zika virus: how it is transmitted and what are the risks

The Zika virus is transmitted by a mosquito bite of the genus Aedes: a mosquito bites an infected person, and when it bites another, it also injects the virus. The disease is suspected to be transmitted by blood transfusion and sexually. A case was recently reported in Texas of a person infected following sexual intercourse with a partner who had just returned from Latin America.

Zika virus: what is it and what does it cause?

The Zika virus, contrary to common thought, is a virus that comes from afar; it remained in the dark for almost 70 years: it was isolated in a monkey in the Zika forest in Uganda as early as 1947, but the first case of infection human history dates back to 1954, in Nigeria. However, it is only since the early months of 2015 that this viral agent has begun to cause a growing fear due to its rapid spread in Latin American countries. In fact, within a few months, about 1.3 million cases of suspected Zika infection were recorded in Brazil alone.
