Charlotte Palermino, the founder of dieux, always knew she would work in the cosmetics sector. She interviewed for a position at L'Oréal and an ad firm after graduating from McGill University in 2009. The Brooklyn-based beauty guru says, "The acceptance letter for L'Oreal went to my junk mail, so by the time I realised I had gotten the job, I was working full-time at the ad agency." It's amusing how fate will eventually track you down.

The idea for a website that now serves nearly 400 schools nationally, including the University of Michigan, arose from a student's desire for a tuna sandwich at the University of Pennsylvania 14 years ago.
