Antiseptics like Chlorhexidine are proved to be the effective means of oral decontamination. Chlorhexidine is a cationic chlorophenyl bis-biguanide antiseptic agent, which has the ability to bind to oral tissues and release antiseptic properties slowly, therefore, having a long period of antibacterial action.
