Brett Favre's first appearance on football Dan Skuta Limited Jersey cards came during the 1991 season when the Atlanta Falcons' rookie showed up on a variety of issues, some in his Southern Mississippi college uniform. While some of the companies which issued Favre cards that year didn't come close to outlasting the great quarterback's career, they mark the beginning of what would be a phenomenal 17-year run in the NFL for the native of Kiln, MS.

Favre's most popular rookie card is clearly his 1991 Topps Stadium Club issue. TSC was a rookie itself in 1991, a "high end" or premium off-shoot of the regular issue Topps cards. Competition forced the long-time market leader to producer a higher quality, glossy card. Favre, who rarely saw action, even in pre-season, is pictured in one of his rare 'in action' moments as a member of the Falcons. The Stadium Club rookie card was recently ranked as the 14th greatest football card of all time by Beckett magazine.

Favre was traded to Green Bay for a first round pick after that first Falcons' campaign and the rest is history. While the 1991 Stadium Club card is his rookie card, the 1992 Stadium Club is the most valuable of Favre's early issues. The Favre card was issued as part of the third series of cards in the TSC set that year, distributed late in the year on a very limited basis. Professionally graded and authenticated examples of the 1992 TSC Favre can exceed $100.

The variety of football cards Colt McCoy Elite Jersey exploded as the 1990s continued with game-worn jersey and autographed cards entering the mix in recent years. Some of those "1 of 1" cards carry significant value and are in high demand from collectors but aren't considered part of any regular issue set.

Other Favre memorabilia collected by fans include ticket stubs or programs from each of his 275 consecutive NFL starts, a monumental task considering the number of different NFL stadiums in which Favre played from 1992 to 2007. Milestone games, such as the ones in which Favre tied and then broke the NFL touchdown pass record held by Dan Marino, are especially sought after.

Favre was once generous with his autograph, and had private autograph deals in place from his earliest days in Green Bay, which has helped keep prices and quantity at a fairly reasonable level over the years, but as demand increased, forgeries did pop up. If you haven't obtained the autograph yourself, it's important to purchase Favre signed items which have been authenticated by a reputable source such as PSA/DNA or James Spence Authentication.
