Visiting Greece in Summer: What you need to know

Submitted by Hostelbay on Mon, 11/26/2018 - 10:28

I am living in Greece, and we have had many visitors and guests in the summer mostly, so we know that each traveler has their own tastes and expectations. Therefore, the information below is quite generic or oriented towards our particular preferences.

If you are also planning to come to Greece, then once you get to the islands or provincial cities, you would never know they existed. They can be hard to avoid, but the key is to check your particular ferries in Greece, an excursion or whatever. Many still take place even when news headlines say that everything is closed. Greece has never been a place of precision and accuracy.

Things you should take care before planning in Greece:

• Flights: The most international flights land in Athens Greece. There are many flights during the summer season for Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes, Corfu and the like. All have a ferry to Greece service to other islands, but local flights are only between Athens. By the way, there are no reasonably priced hotels near the Athens airport, but it does not matter because there are express buses dedicated to Athens.

• Favorite Greek island: It is depending on you, our house in Greece is always high as a good combination of activity and Greek. The most popular islands, such as Santorini and Mykonos, are like that because they are easier to find. It is researching any local festivals that may be happening during your stay. In Greece, like most places, there is a large generational gap in cultural observance. Traditions are mostly observed by the older.

• Ferry schedules: The most common question they ask us about trips to Greece are the schedules of the ferries to Greece. Ferries are subject to many more variables than trains. The experience of the Greek island to be more relaxed and tolerant of the uncertainties caused by wind, water, vacations, and even labor strikes.

• Athens: The Athens metro is magnificent with very interesting stations, many of them show antiques excavated during its construction. Most people find two and a half days in Athens enough to see the highlights of this great city that is not friendly to pedestrians. The best thing is to go out to other places in Greece.

It is very easy to go from island to island, but it costs a lot of time and little money. It does not do well if you are not using the ferries in Greece service. In general, the season's schedule is not complete until a couple of weeks before the season starts. Therefore, we recommend that you do not make advance reservations, except for your first and last nights.

To choose any ferries from Greece, you have to do a little research. My biggest advice is to not include more than 2 or 3 islands per week, if you are only an hour away by ferry, you still spend a day leaving your hotel, Choose the wisely any ferries packages for Greece, from any best hostel and hotel packages.
