A latest research carried out by English health officers has indicated that, hazard of E-cigarette is 95% lower than that of the ordinary cigarette, therefore, it is suggested to promote E-cigarette energetically to help the smokers to quit smoking.

Kevin•Fenton, expert from Public Health Agency of England who led the research, said that though not totally harmless, E-cigarette causes fewer hazards than ordinary cigarette. They found out that most of the pathogenic chemicals in the tobacco do not exist in E-cigarette. Passive inhalation of E-cigarette will cause even fewer danger.

It is indicated in the statistics data of the researchers that, 2.6 million adults in England are using E-cigarette using e cigarette pressure sensor as tool to stop smoking.

E-cigarette has become popular among European and American countries in recent years. It is a non-flaming substitute product of cigarette, and has battery, nicotine box and sprayer inside the metal pipe. The user can inhale vaporing nicotine and exhale white fog, and choose special flavor according to personal preference.

However, international medical research institutes have doubt on whether the E-cigarette using electret condenser microphone can help people to quit smoking as substitute of tobacco, health departments of many countries have also tried to carry out laws and decrees to standardize sales and usage of E-cigarette. The World Health Organization published a report in 2014 to indicate that strict measures shall be taken to control E-cigarette before discovery of clear evidence, and it is not allowed to smoke E-cigarette indoors and to sale E-cigarettes to juveniles.

An investigation result published by the University of Southern California is also inconsistent with research result of England. While according to survey of American Party, teenagers who smoke E-cigarettes with electronic cigarette pressure sensor and turned to smoke ordinary cigarettes are two times those teenagers who have never made contact with E-cigarettes.

Professor Ren Ganquan, director of China Office of The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, said during a press interview that, scientific consensus has not been reached on smoking cessation effect of E-cigarette internationally. Concentration of E-cigarette can be easily adjusted, which means improper usage of E-cigarette may cause acute nicotine poisoning.

He thought E-cigarette may cause more demerits than goods, in case that E-cigarettes are listed as prescription medicine, better effect will be achieved when E-cigarettes are used by those who want quit smoking as per doctor's advice. "However, this means consumer groups and the market will be limited for manufacturers and dealers of E-cigarette."
