The producer, rapper and singer/songwriter's first foray into the world of basketball came when he composed the soundtrack for NBA Kevin Durant's documentary 2K MT, Basketball County: In The Water in the year 2020. Aside from being a Maryland connection, it feels right to compare the life of IDK to that of Durant's--someone who endured a lot of challenges before he got to where that he is today.
From being in jail at 17 looking at an 80-year sentence in a case of armed robbery from the time he decided to get into music and create a respectable name in the music business, the journey of IDK has been pretty incredible. Today, at 29 years old and with a plethora of his own music, IDK boasts plenty of plaudits and has worked with some of the greats--from Tyler to DMX as well as Tyler.

The music of IDK, though fitting perfectly in the current world of trap and music, is a conscious artist who doesn't shy away from having to take on difficult topics like grappling with religion, past traumas, to the way that the political landscape is to the artist as the Black woman in America.

We spoke to IDK to discuss the contrast between ballers and rappers in the NBA, his life as a London kid living his American dream and what he adores most about the NBA 2K franchise.
