Minnesota beats Toronto to stay in top spot in West

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Boston Celtics both won, maintaining first place in the East and West.

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Eastern Conference underdog Toronto Raptors 133-85 at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, in the first home game of the 2023-2024 NBA regular season.

Ace Anthony Edwards scored 28 points and dished out six assists, while Rudy Gobert added 11 points and 15 rebounds. With key big man Karl-Anthony Towns out with an injury, Nazr Reed stepped up with 23 points and seven rebounds in his absence.

Minnesota showed off strong defense and steady power with five players scoring in double figures,

while Toronto was held to 16 points from ace Imanuel Quinckley.

In the highly anticipated matchup between the top teams in the East and West, Boston and the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Celtics came out on top, 135-100.

Boston was led by Jayson Tatum (24 points, 7 rebounds), Kristaps Porzingis (27 points, 12 rebounds), and Jaylen Brown (23 points, 7 rebounds).

Oklahoma, on the other hand, was without ace Shai Gilgeous-Alexander due to injury and second option Jaylen Williams.

The Lakers held off the Washington Wizards 125-120 to remain in ninth place in the West. They effectively clinched a playoff berth.

The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Detroit Pistons 121-113, even without Trae Young.
