Reset your Microsoft Account Password online

First, make sure the Caps Lock isn’t turned on, so passwords are case-sensitive. If you’re certain you’re using the correct password but still can’t sign in, your account might be compromised.
To change your password, follow these steps:
Move to the Password Reset tab.
Select the reason for your password reset, then press Next.
Enter the Microsoft account email address you’re trying to restore.
Enter the symbols you see on the screen, then press the Next button.
If you have security information on your account, we’ll give you a one-time code to the alternate phone number or email address you sent.
You’ll be able to create a new password after entering the code on the next screen.
