Arlo cameras are comes with in-built HD cameras. Keep your house more secure with Arlo cameras. Arlo allows you to review previously store videos and also allow you to live stream video from anywhere.
Arlo record videos are usually stores into cloud. You can change this storage location by putting USB device into Arlo system and use it as second storage location. USB device can’t use as a primary storage by itself. Only automatic recordings will save into connected USB device. Other manual recordings are save into cloud.
If you connect USB to Arlo system, system will record for both USB and cloud storage. If your internet connectivity goes offline but your system is still on then Arlo system will save recordings into USB device. Arlo application will notify you about storage when USB’s storage is about to full. By choosing automatic overwrite option, system will delete old stored videos automatically when storage is less than 20%.
There are few hardware requirements listed below.
1. Arlo Base Station
2. USB drive with minimum space of 400 MB. Best quality of videos may have longer size and if you have multiple cameras then storage space may need larger.
Avoid format Arlo system which has storage more than 2 TB. This format process may cause loss in capacity of storage devices.
There are some instructions below which leads you to setup local backup storage.
1. Plug in USB cable into USB port behind the Arlo pro base station.
2. Open Arlo application or you can login through your web browser with correct username and password.
3. Go to setting option and click on My Devices.
4. Check whether green circle is appear in front of USB device or not.
5. If yes then leave this step and if you see any text like required space or format then perform format process.
6. Avoid formatting USB from Arlo base station because it may cause reduction into capacity of storage.
7. Turn off automatic overwrite if you not want to erase data from your USB. By turning this option off, all recordings will save into cloud till you turn it back on.
