Fergusson: It's what D2R Items the dungeons have become famous for in Diablo is that idea of them being procedurally generated , meaning that every time you go into it will be a different experience. And one of the things I really enjoy when we game is that you walk into the dungeon and don't know the purpose. There's not a magical figure at the door telling you what to do.
How to complete this task is to go in and discover the objective, which is really fun. They also play quite well with our endgame. It's not just the dungeons that you're doing as you play through the campaign regularly for, perhaps, new gear or a certain item and then at the end the game, suddenly you're faced with Nightmare Dungeons.
Shely: So because there are dungeons in the realm, then they're actually places. As you're doing the endgame activities , you'll find that more choice is available through the whispers that surround the Nightmare dungeon is now part of the expanded Paragon system, which we've shown the first glimpse of in the video there.
The dungeons can be upgraded by using these sigils, making them Nightmare the dungeons and turn more dangerous. Additional affixes can be added to them , making the monsters more dangerous , or could even provide advantages.
You'll get a wide variety of sigils with all kinds of affixes. So there's, once again the option for players to choose the types of sigils that you'd like to create. If you're given a sigil that is for the wrong dungeon, or one that you think is well suited to your specific class, do a different one.
Ferguson: Nightmare dungeons are our take on Rifts which is why in the case of Diablo there's always an item in town. you go there opening a portal, then it's off and you're stuck in the town and going through it over and over. And now we have these Nightmare dungeons. It's similar to running the Rift in a way, but it has a sense of place.
And so Joe has the sigils, and I have them and we're saying "Okay Where do we would like to go? We need to get somewhere now," And, "Okay, let's mount up, take off our horses and we're going to ride to the west." In addition, the dungeon offers specific kinds of loot that we want to acquire or gear that we want to get. It's why I love that buy diablo 2 resurrected items feeling of being in a place, not just going to a portal in town every time.
