Field Engineer Job Roles & responsibilities

Timely maintenance
In the telecommunication sector, the Field Engineer has to ensure smooth functioning of communications systems. They are accountable for installing, testing, and maintaining equipment such as installing routers & switches to run wireless networks.

Equipment checkups
A Field Engineer should follow up with the routine checkups of equipment. The professional must ensure optimal performance and must take care of component repairs.

Risk factors & tools?
The tools used as part of their job include network facilities and interconnected devices. They must be cautious when working high above the ground and around high voltage systems. Field Engineers must be available during emergency hours and should be comfortable working outdoors.

Work with other departments
The professional must work in coordination with the other departments, engineers, and construction personnel when completing maintenance and equipment installations.

High demand
They must be available 24/7 and should be able to commute to the site area, whenever possible.

Academic eligibility
Must have an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in telecommunications, electronics, and electrical engineering. The candidate can pursue MBA in telecom management which is in high demand in the market.
