Gosh, this looks so complicated. On the one hand, kudos for maintaining the original game intact so that there won't be a riot over changes people do not like. However on PSO2 Meseta the flip side, since they are remaking base PSO2 visuals anyhow, I wish they'd only go 100 percent and synchronize personality versions entirely. Giving old players some free fashion items and unlocks would be enough to bribe everyone to accept the new system.

Synchronizing 100% personality models does not sound simple. The dilemma is that the old outfits and coating use are modeled to fit the old pso2 body. That's unlikely to happen. I mean that I would be willing to drop a certain proportion of these cosmetics to keep things intact across versions. As long as there's a steady feed of cool new stuff to replace it, I don't mind. I constantly rotate out my older appearances anyway. Provided that the character versions translate 1:1 it will still feel just like mine.

I'd envision a massive complication to this entails a great deal of the makeup from the Western side of things that were exclusive to collaborations, promotional events, and events that no longer exist. The example I can think of is the Dragon Hunter Frontier Z cooperation where I could imagine the clothes and weapons could unquestionably be provided a visual upgrade alongside everything else but I don't exactly understand how the licensing or the way the lawful side of this collaboration works where I'd wish it was as easy as Sega going through and updating the assets but I don't understand about how much of Capcom is involved in that process.

The same applies to collaborations such as the Final Fantasy XIV collaboration with Odin (which exists as far as I know) where I do not know how much Square Enix is involved in that for Sega to be able to update assets . When it was only just Phantasy Star-related things (like character outfits, cameos from cheap Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta different games, or alternative Sega-related possessions ) I could imagine that this probably would have been achieved, or at least would be done. But in the Global version we already don't have the existence of Cougar NX therefore that I don't know if there are additional complications regarding Sega's own properties which may also contribute to not upgrading everything they can within reason.
