Blizzard is taking this issue very serious

"We recognize that as a result of your involvement with WoTLK Gold that you are involved by the production, release and hosting of what is known as 'emulated server software (hereafter"Infringing Services"), ),'"", the notice reads. "Among other things, [these] Infringing Services allow users to play altered and/or illegitimate copies of WoW online [without] the need for a legitimately-purchased copy or subscription."

ArsTechnica offers more information about the letter that goes on to affirm that "Blizzard is not authorized andin fact explicitly prohibits any of the activities mentioned."

It continu"Our client's copyrights and intellectual property are extremely valuable and Blizzard is taking this issue very serious. As you'll see, your conduct causes grave irreparable harm to the worth and quality of our client's goods and their intellectual property."

In a post to accompany the announcement which is now the replacement for the Felmyst website and forums, Gummy52 said the server was the culmination of four years of hard work. Gummy52 also said that a muscular dystrophy condition prevents him from leaving the country in search of "an alternative method of hosting servers."

A large part of the problem appears to be the amount of players who've suddenly begun to show interest in the older server. The plan was to have a small community of players who play a classic version the game, but this was not possible. Gummy52 said he is unwilling to give the game to someone else as it has been attracting more attention the server buy WoTLK Gold has received, "the market to wrongfully make money from this kind of thing is way too lucrative for anyone to give it away just on the spur of the moment."
