Best Bezel Less Phones You Can Buy in India

There was a time when one would have to compromise with the tiny screens on mobile phones. You couldn’t watch any of your favourite movies, look at those shiny music videos on YouTube, or even play your favourite game without bezels coming in the way. But now, the trend of manufacturing bezel-less phones has taken the industry by storm, and it ain’t going anywhere! The 'My Mobile Reviewer' Team gives a phenomenal overview of top phones available in the Indian market. Know the details below.

What is a bezel-less display?

A bezel is a type of frame around displays, like those on your TV or smartphone. TV and computers manufacturers already adopted this trend a long time ago but for phones, this is quite a new concept. Many of the manufacturers are deliberately cutting down the dead space between smartphone screens and the metal frames that are around them. The bezel-less look is distinctly futuristic and, despite some compromises, we are surely inclining towards them.

Why buy a bezel less display phone?

Phones with a bezel-less display allow the user to have a full screen. Actually, bezels are the corners or edges of the phone. The reducing of the bezel from the screen of the phone is to have a big and larger display size. The trendsetter in the bezel-less display category has been Xiaomi. This was followed by Samsung, and then Apple’s iPhone, which was hugely criticised by many, but was adopted by a lot of manufacturers in terms of design.

Today, many other brands are promoting their phones by harping on its bezel-less display quality.

Here are some of the most popular Best Bezel-Less Display in the market –

One Plus 6T

This device has a screen size of 6.41 inches and a screen-to-body ratio of 85.5%. The OnePlus 6T was actually better than expensive phones in comparison to features and terms. Actually, it was the best design of 2018 and its display was a slim bezel at the bottom and a teardrop notch for the front-facing camera. The fingerprint sensor was also part of the display. The AMOLED display had a 2,340 x 1,080-pixel resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

One Plus 7 Pro

The absolutely stunning OnePlus 7 Pro features a minimal design that combines rising front-facing camera, which allows for an almost all-screen in front — there’s still a little bottom bezel. The screen of the phone is 6.67-inch and also incredibly sharp, with the deep blacks that AMOLED affords, and it boasts a silky smooth refresh rate of 90Hz. The ratio of the screen to the body is 88.4 %. There’s also an in-display fingerprint sensor. Throw in a speedy Snapdragon 855 processor, loads of RAM and storage, and a triple-lens rear camera, and though it’s not as affordable as previous OnePlus releases, it is still truly a good bezel-less phone worth having.

iPhone X and iPhone XS

Apple has already launched quite a few phones in the bezel-less display segment. Apple’s special iPhone X (pronounced ten) has an almost all-screen design. The size – 5.8-inch OLED panel with curved corners and the thinnest of frames. The screen-to-body ratio is almost 82.9%, and the resolution is 2,436 x 1,125 pixels, which is the sharpest display we’ve ever seen in an iPhone. The display actually has a ratio of 19.5:9, which makes it the widest screen you’ve seen, but that cut-out at the top does eat into a portion of the picture. Apple got around the problem of removing the TouchID fingerprint sensor by replacing it with FaceID, which uses the front-facing camera to identify your face before unlocking. The iPhone XS features an identical design.

iPhone XS MAX

The iPhone XS has the biggest screen you have ever seen in an iPhone, and also boasts Apple’s highest screen-to-body ratio till date. The fact that this phone packs in a screen that is a full inch bigger in the diagonal than the iPhone 8 Plus, yet comes in a smaller body, tells you a lot about the new edge-to-edge, notched display design that Apple has employed. It has that superwide 19.5:9 aspect ratio and the same OLED tech that graces best phones nowadays. The 2,688 x 1,242-pixel resolution also enables it to match the iPhone XS when it comes to sharpness, with a pixel-per-inch count of 458. iPhone XR

It has the same notch like the iPhone X, XS, and XS Max, but the XR clearly has bigger bezels around its display and as a consequence, it fails to beat many of the phones with big bezels on the top and bottom.

Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus and Note 9

The screen-to-body ratio of the Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus and Note 9 is 83.6%, 84.2%, and 83.9% respectively, and a screen size of 5.8 inches, 6.2 inches, and 6.4 inches. The S9 has a curved “Infinity Display,” and is one of the good-looking phones on the list. While the S9 Plus actually boasts a slightly higher screen-to-body ratio with its 6.2-inch screen. There is actually a thin bezel top and bottom, and an even slimmer one near the sides. Samsung discontinued the home button with the S8 and used Android’s standard navigation icons on the screen, so the bottom bezel is empty, but the top bezel still contains the iris scanner, proximity sensor, earpiece, and selfie camera. These are some of the biggest screens on the market, but they’re packed — largely because of the 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

Samsung S10, S10 Plus and S10e

The Galaxy S10e’s screen size is 5.8” in the full rectangle and 5.6” when accounting for the rounded corners; Galaxy S10’s screen size is 6.1″ in the full rectangle and 6.0″ when accounting for the rounded corners; and Galaxy S10 Plus’ screen size is 6.4″ in the full rectangle and 6.3″ when accounting for the rounded corners. OPPO Reno 10x Zoom

The OPPO Reno 10X zoom has recently launched in India with a beautiful 6.6-inch display, which is huge and possibly one of the best bezel-less display phones out there.
