Blizzard has announced a new campaign to raise money

The popularity of WoW Classic has amazed even Blizzard WoTLK Gold, which thought the game would appeal only to core fans. Executive producer John Hight told P2Pah: "It certainly shocked us."

He continued: "When we put out Classic we were not sure that this was going to be a big deal or not? We thought"Our fans' core are really going to love that, therefore let's do this for them.' But, then it turned into a vast group comprised of WoW players. Much larger than our current WoW community. It was quite a shock to us." Hight said. "We realized, 'Oh gosh we need to help two communities. What do we do?'"

"Suffice this to state, I'm convinced that we hold records for the two most massive MMOs that exist on Earth. So it's a significant community. A lot bigger than we thought it would be."
