It can be very frustrating to take your phone out to make a call and discover it has only 2% of its battery power left. If your battery is not charged, your phone is practically useless. Battery capacity is one of the differentiating factor between iPhone models. While the iPhone X should give you audio playback for at least 60 hours, the iPhone 11 Pro Max will give you 80 hours of audio playback. But, like everything else, batteries have a lifespan. If your phone starts dying out too soon, you may have to consider iPhone battery replacement. Here are a few tips to maximize your battery life so that you do not have to replace your battery.
Switch off the display
It might be tempting to have your phone display on continuously to let you know what the time is, when you receive a new email or message, etc. However, if your display is on throughout the day, the battery power is greatly compromised. Thus, reducing the time our display is on for can save your battery life.
To do this, go to the settings and navigate to ‘Display and Brightness’. Within the Auto Lock options you will find a number of options to set the timer for your display. This ranges from 30 seconds to never. Ideally, you could set this for 2-3 minutes.
Turn off extra notifications
There are certain notifications you need alerts for- when you receive a new text message, a new email or when your banking app wants to let you know something. However, other notifications such as those from shopping apps, games, etc. are quite unnecessary. While they do not add much to your day, they reduce battery life. So, if you’re looking at an easy way to improve your battery life, switch off selective notifications.
For this, go to Settings and then to Notifications. You can then scroll down the list and toggle the ‘allow notifications’ button for each app to select which apps you want to receive notifications from. Isn’t it a simple way to reduce the need for iPhone battery replacement!
Limit the way apps access your location
Does the app you use to shop for clothes really need to know where you are at all times? No! By accessing your location, apps reduce your battery life. You may also want to check the way apps access your location for privacy reasons.
To change this, open the Settings, go to Privacy and tap location services. You can then scroll through the list of apps accessing your location and edit the settings for each one. In most cases, you can give apps the ability to access your location through the following 4 options – never, while using the app, ask next time and always. You could turn off the location service completely but that might interfere with the Maps app.
If none of this helps, you may have to consider iPhone battery replacement. Don’t try to do this on your own but instead, take your phone to an authorized service center.
