According to the corporation and the duty-free industry on the 6th, the four duty-free shop businesses배구분석

at the departure hall of Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 will end on the 28th of this month. Even Incheon International Airport was unable to avoid large-scale vacancy due to the failure to select the next business operator due to Corona 19.

By the end of this month, four businesses, including DF2 (Perfume, Cosmetics), DF3/4 (Main Tobacco), and DF6 (Fashion), have been operated by Hotel Shilla (DF2,DF4, and Hotel Lotte (DF3), respectively. They account for 30% of total sales in Terminal 1.

In addition, DF8·9 (all items) of small and medium-sized business rights operated by SM (041510) and City Duty Free have already been returned.

Previously, the corporation held three bids to select the next operator last year, but all bids were auctioned off as the number of users fell to a record low of 6,000 due to the prolonged Korona 19.

The corporation, which failed to bid, attempted a private contract with a certain company, but even this failed.

Finally, the corporation requested Shilla and Lotte, whose contracts ended in August last year, to operate additionally for six months, and the Korea Customs Service, which controls the duty-free shop patent, also approved it. However, under Article 182 of the Customs Act, the patent period for duty-free shops can be extended for up to six months, but no further extension is possible.

As a result, the corporation plans to request Shinsegae (004170) and Hyundai Duty Free to temporarily open their businesses for six months instead of Shilla and Lotte, whose business contracts expire at the end of this month. This is because it is expected to take about six months to select a new operator.

Currently, Shinsegae DF and Hyundai Duty Free are operating DF1 (Perfume Cosmetics), DF5 (Boutique), and DF7 (Fashion Miscellaneous Goods) at the departure hall of T1 at Incheon International Airport, respectively. The duty-free patents of the two companies are due in August 2023.
