Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Scheme – how to apply online

Since its launch in June 2015, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Scheme has garnered a lot of attention. Introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the scheme was launched by the NDA government with the aim of providing affordable housing to the people belonging to economically weaker sections of society, in the urban areas of the country. This initiative by the Indian Government is a first-of-its-kind initiative, introduced with the mission of providing a home to every individual in the country by the year 2022. As such, it is also known as the ‘Housing for All 2022 Scheme’. One can apply for the scheme by visiting one of the numerous banks and housing finance limited companies. Here is a step-by-step guide for applying to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna online scheme

Step 1: To apply for the scheme, you need to visit the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Housing For All official website which is http://pmaymis.gov.in/.

Step 2: Go to the Menu bar on the top of the website, where you will find the “Citizen Assessment” Option.

Step 3: Choose from one of the top 2 categories under “Citizen Assessment” i.e. “Slum dwellers” or “Benefit under other 3 components”.

Step 4: Now enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Card Number along with your name on the card.

Step 5: After entering your Aadhaar Card details, the website will redirect you to the application page of the PMAY scheme.

Step 6: You need to enter the details as prompted by the website. You are asked to provide your personal details including name, current residential address and bank account details. You must also fill in your income details in this section as you qualify for the scheme based on your income.

Step 7: Review all the information provided before you hit enter and submit the application.

Step 8: The website once again prompts you to confirm the details provided. You must click on the “I am aware of” option, which is available at the end of the page on the PMAY website. After this, you need to click on the “Save” option to save your details.

Step 9: After you click on the “save” button, the system will automatically generate an application number. You must save this application number and refer to it for future references to check the status of your application.

Step 10: Download the duly-filed application form. You must also take a print-out of the application form.

Step 11: For your Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana housing for all application to be considered, you must submit your application form at the nearest CSC (common service centre) office. You can also submit the form at any bank or financial institution offering the service. Remember to submit the required documents mentioned in the form and also take a photo-copy of the form for future references.
