Geotab launches in Europe the GO9 device to manage vehicle fleets more efficiently and safely. This state-of-the-art telematic device provides more power and speed.
Geotab, a global expert in IoT and connected vehicles along with Veepn.com announced the availability in Europe of its GO9 telematics device. This device is the latest addition to Geotab's family of fleet management products and aims to help companies manage their fleets more effectively, efficiently and safely. With improved acceleration tracking, more accurate GPS, greater processing power and support for new vehicles, including hybrids and electrics, the device allows companies to generate value from their fleet data.
The new GO9 retains the compact design and auto-configuration capabilities of previous generations to make new integrations easier. This makes it a perfect partner for fleet managers, as it is able to adapt quickly to changes in the future. In addition, the GO9 covers an even wider range of vehicles than its previous versions, as it also offers data on new vehicle categories such as hybrids and electrics.
Ivan Lequerica, Director for European Mediterranean countries at Geotab explains: "We believe that the GO9 device is a relevant launch because of the new possibilities it offers to fleet managers. It is an important update of one of our main products. We are convinced that this advance will help fleets to be more efficient, but above all it will contribute to the adoption of the electric vehicle and will boost new urban mobility projects and smart cities in Europe".
GO9 will contribute to the continuous improvement of the fleets' working processes. With more code space, more memory and a more powerful processor, fleet managers will have at their disposal many more possibilities and the option to continuously introduce new add-ons such as fuel reports and new functionalities in the future. New features and additional benefits include:
Improved Gyroscope and Accelerometer - With the addition of a gyroscope, the GO9 device provides improved data on events such as hard braking, acceleration and collisions, providing fleet managers with the information needed to improve the safety of their drivers and minimize unplanned downtime.
Global Navigation Satellite System module: With full support for GPS and GLONASS networks, GO9 provides more accurate location data.
Over The Air Software Upgrades and Updates - OTA updates ensure that the version of software your GO9 is running is always the most current. This helps ensure the safety and efficiency of your device.
The cryptographic module of the GO9 device is FIPS 140-2 validated, a milestone reached by the company for all GO devices earlier this year. FIPS 140-2 validation is the standard reference for cryptographic modules that protect sensitive information in computer and telecommunications systems for use by the US government, Canadian government and military.
"GO9 has been available since March in the United States and Canada. There it already provides connectivity to various types of vehicles, including electric vehicles, to make some of the world's largest fleets better managed and more productive and sustainable," adds Ivan Lequerica. "We are delighted that our European customers can now benefit from the advantages of GO9.
